Job Description:

The Candidate will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities related to sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain management for both on-site construction materials and the manufacturing of prefabricated steel modular units. Your expertise will ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement strategies that align with our project timelines and quality standards.


As part of a company in a high-growth phase, similar to a startup, the ideal candidate must be highly adaptable and willing to take on multidisciplinary roles. You should be exceptionally organized and capable of setting up efficient systems and processes from the ground up, tailoring them to meet the evolving needs of a company that is still developing its foundational structures. This role is critical for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, driving change and innovation to achieve strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic procurement and sourcing plans for construction and manufacturing materials.

Manage global supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery of materials to both the factory in Mexico and construction sites in California.

Forecast and Assist with import/export efforts.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to forecast needs and secure the best prices for materials and services.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and standards, particularly those related to construction and manufacturing industries.

Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.

Solicit quotations from vendors. Review, analyze and present findings to management with emphasis on best economic value and defined company procurement objectives.

Generate Purchase Orders, along with tracking and communicating orders with stakeholders.

Oversee the logistics and supply chain workflows to optimize costs and efficiencies.

Develop and improve workflows, SOPs, and processes.

Implement sustainable procurement practices that contribute to the company s environmental commitments.

Monitor market trends and supplier performances to adjust procurement strategies as necessary.

Manage and build up a purchasing team between the Company s manufacturing facility and San Diego office.

Work with Company s finance director and other stakeholders to manage payment of purchase order.

Forecasting procurement and delivery to the Company s manufacturing facility and construction sites (material planning).

Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field. A Master s degree is preferred (extensive experience in the residential homebuilding industry may suffice)

Minimum of 5 years of experience in contracting, negotiating pricing, procurement and supply chain management within the construction or manufacturing sectors, with a strong preference for experience in prefabricated/modular construction (or experience in the residential building sector)

Proven track record of managing complex global supply chains and procurement operations.

Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, and accounting.

Ability to establish and maintain vendor and staff relations.

Proven problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to multi-task and have strong organization skills.

Strong work ethic, team player, ability to work with minimal supervision.

Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Proficient in procurement software and ERP systems.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000
