Join our team.As the Title I Reading and Math Specialist Teacher you will provide instruction congruent with the New York State Learning Standards as well as the students' Individual Education Plan to enable students to reach their fullest physical, social-emotional, psychological, behavioral and intellectual potential.

As the Title I Reading and Math Specialist Teacher your day will include:

-Group and individual instruction of reading and math for students

-Collaborating with administration and teachers to improve student achievement within the framework of the student-centered coaching

-Developing lessons utilizing effective instructional strategies to promote student achievement/engagement and measure student progress.

Shift: Monday through Friday 7:35 AM - 2:35 PM

Pay: Grant funded position, $223.93 per day

Qualifications for the role:

-Students with Disabilities New York Teacher certification or enrolled in an academic program that leads to certification is preferred but not required

-Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

-Student-focused approach

-A high degree of flexibility and receptivity to feedback

-Acts as a good model of character with exceptional tact

-Problem-solving and leadership skills

-Strong classroom management and positive behavior intervention skills

-Experience working with students identified as having an emotional disability and/or learning disability preferred
