Electrical Technician V


Job Details

The Electrical Lab Technician will be working with the Hardware Product Engineering teams who are designing the next generation of VR devices. You will be responsible for PCBA rework, day-to-day maintenance and inventory management of the Electrical Engineering lab, and some electronics testing and prototyping. We are looking for an electrical technician who is passionate about collaborating with other engineers and technicians to work on hardware products and prototypes. A successful candidate will be creative, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and looking to expand their skill set.

Primary Responsibilities

PCBA rework, cable assembly, and electronics breadboarding.

Day-to-day managing of electrical engineering lab workspaces to serve engineering teams.

Lab tools and equipment inventory control, asset management, component purchasing/ordering support, invoice payment and delivery management

Lab equipment and rework station maintenance, upkeep, calibration

Extended Opportunities

As possible, review and execute wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components as needed to complete tasks

As possible, perform electrical and system testing, following engineering procedures and reporting results as required.

Required Skills

Experience with fine-pitch/SMT/high density PCBA rework (0402)

Organized and detail-oriented in a hardware lab environment

Strong collaborative ability with a desire to serve lab customers

Initiative to learn, identify lab improvements, and seek opportunities

Clear verbal and written communication

Analytical problem-solving capability

Additional Skills

Strong practical knowledge of engineering science and technology

Experience with industry standard EE lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies, etc.)

Strong practical knowledge of circuit boards, components, electronic equipment, and computer hardware

Experience with electronics test fixture development and basic operation

Education/Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in an electrical technician role working on high density PCBAs/electronics assemblies.


Top 3 must-have HARD skills:

Experience with fine-pitch/SMT/high density PCBA rework (0402)

Organized and detail-oriented in a hardware lab environment

Strong collaborative ability with a desire to serve lab customers

Good to have skills:

Strong practical knowledge of engineering science and technology
