Receptionist - Main Lobby

As a receptionist, you will perform a wide range of duties associated with directing all persons entering or telephoning the main lobby seeking hospital information. This includes looking up where visitors can find the specific patients they are visiting, finding out what appointments people have and where to go. #Receptionists provide excellent customer service to both patients and hospital. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:# ### #Assists all guests with a caring, courteous and efficient manner. ### #Accurately directs all guests seeking assistance to their destination in a timely and efficient manner; escorts guests to points of destination whenever possible. ### #When necessary, obtains wheelchairs for guests in need and ensures they are escorted to the appropriate destination. Calls Patient Assistance Liaison for assistance when needed. ### #Answers phone calls when they are transferred to the front desk. ### #Escorts guests to their destination or calls for an interpreter when language barriers prevent guests from clearly understanding directions. ### #Notifies Security immediately in instances when visitors are not authorized or pose a potential threat to guests or staff, provides a physical description of the person and their destination if it is known to Security. ### #Maintains a courteous and pleasant attitude at all times toward patients, families, guests, and hospital personnel. ### #Handles all requests for non-confidential patient information, room and telephone numbers, forwarding calls as necessary. ### #Communicates issues, barriers, relevant info effectively to supervisor. ### #Shows ability to prioritize and delegate. Uses critical thinking and brainstorming to resolve issues. Completes required follow-up. ### #Completes other tasks as assigned. EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE: Required: ### #High school diploma or equivalent ### #Two years# experience in dealing with the public/customer service. ### #Excellent computer skills including email, and MS Word ### #Efficient typing skills ### #Experience using multi-line phone system. # Preferred: ### #Associates Degree ### #Experience using paragon or other EMR software Lawrence General Hospital is a private, non-profit community hospital providing the Merrimack Valley # southern New Hampshire regions with patient-centered, compassionate, and quality health care for the whole family.
