Title of Position: Maintenance Technician

Immediate Supervisor: Shift Supervisor

FSLA: Non-exempt

In Case of Absence: Supervisor will delegate duties.

Pay: $20 - $32 per hour DOE

Responsibilities:

Evaluate and correct all repairs and perform preventative maintenance on all company equipment. Works closely Evaluate with the maintenance and operation teams to address and resolve equipment and manufacturing obstacles and mechanical/electrical problems. Performs routine maintenance while minimizing line downtime.

Key Duties:

It is the responsibility of the Maintenance staff to clock in at least 10-15 minutes prior to the start of shift.

Troubleshoot problems and eliminate manufacturing constraints.

Maintain necessary parts and maintenance supplies in an organized manner.

Implement and document plant preventative maintenance.

Demonstrates an elevated level of safety focus and awareness via maintenance actions and support within the facility.

Establish a positive rapport and provide proactive customer service to all production employees and the operations team.

Attention to detail in completing work tasks, cooperative attitude and being reliable and responsible.

Supports the QA department to ensure implementation of maintenance procedures to protect food products.

Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.

Must follow the Preventative Maintenance program and speak with all department heads to ensure all machinery is being maintenance accordingly.

At times, maintenance will oversee projects and must be able to delegate and lead a team of 1-5 people.

Must also be certified on a forklift and comply with all safety regulations. They must be trained in lift safety and pedestrian safety.

Must be comfortable with a computer to do research, order parts, and use the CMMS (FIIX)

Additional duties may include hand stacking, welding, grinding, drilling, measuring, using sheers, and band saw.

Must, over time, become familiar and have a thorough mechanical understanding of the following machines: Optical/Laser Sorters, Dicer, Air Legs, Cyclones, Sheller, Case Erectors, Palletizers, Conveyors, Elevators, Packing Machines, Inshell Line, Shell and Water Trucks, X-Ray machines, Yard Dogs, Fumigators, and other machines not mentioned.

Must diligently document all procedures and log them accordingly.

Required to log into CMMS to review assigned work orders and other tasks and keep up with tasks assigned.

Responsible for all tools used during the workday, must clean up and put them back in the designated storage areas.

Responsible for reporting anything out of compliance with regulation to their immediate supervisor. When operating a forklift, they are responsible for their daily forklift checklist, and communicating when their lift must be serviced with supervisor.

The Maintenance staff must communicate effectively with all machine operators and supervisors in all departments.

Responsible for the sanitation of the machines and equipment worked on.

Other duties, responsibilities and/or tasks as assigned.

Special Skills/Training:

A willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.

Ability to use a computer to do research, basic MS Word, Excel, and use of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)

Ability to read, write, and understand English preferred. (Without an interpreter)

Ability to work in a team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation & flexibility.

Ability to operate various equipment including a forklift and scissor, and man lift.

Experience/Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. (Preferred Associates or Technical Degree)

0-2 years of previous plant maintenance experience working with electrical and/or mechanical equipment.

Prior food processing/food safety experience is preferred.

Typically, does not require knowledge of equipment centers and or business process, however, may require general knowledge/experience surrounding core operating functions.

Receives detailed instruction on work. Work is typically supervised by senior department personnel.

Understand and comply with Cal-Osha regulations and Company policies as they pertain to the safety of all employees.

Read, understand, and acknowledge company policies as written in the Employee Handbook.

All employees are required to adhere to all Food Safety requirements and programs including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Defense and Allergen Programs. Food safety training will be completed a minimum of once a year.
