****Position Summary****

The Material Handler is responsible for the transporting and delivering of production materials to correct areas within the plant by using the correct equipment, tools and procedures outlined by the department. Material Handlers are also responsible for promoting Formet values which will lead to Formets long term success.

****Recommended Qualifications****

? Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent education.

? Physically and mentally able to perform all essential duties of a forklift operator as per Formets Forklift Operator guidelines.

? Process specific (TWI Standards).

****Duties and Responsibilities****

? Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Formet Expectations and Formets Visions/Values through Magnas Employee Charter.

? Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Formet rules and regulations.

? Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.

? Maintaining inventory by labelling, properly placing material and supplies in their location and recording via RF equipment.

? Responsible for ensuring that all material is working a method of FIFO.

? Assist in restructuring storage locations, plant modifications and line staging requirements.

? Participate in corrective actions to problem solve and continuous improvement.

? Monitor, record and document any required data.

? Responsible for delivering information to the Team Leaders in terms of unexpected

production changes.

? Perform operations in a manner consistent with Formets objective for quality,

responsiveness, and cost.

? Abide by Formet Industries policies and procedures as described in the most current version

of the Employee Handbook.

? Perform all functions in a safe manner for all employees.

? Maintain a clean and tidy work area.

? Establish and maintain effective communications with production, material handling,

maintenance and engineering support group for assembly.

? Participate in training and cross training programs.

? Attend and participate in Team, Department, Plantwide and any other meetings as required.

? Be accountable and responsible in helping Formet meet its departmental targets and goals

? Conduct all activities in a professional manner and positive attitude with an emphasis on

personal responsibility.

? Perform other duties as designated.

? Forklift.

? Tugger.

? Departmental Equipment.

****Working Conditions****

? Office and Manufacturing Environments.

? Able to work shift work.

? Able to be flexible in hours of work on short notice in order to meet internal/external

customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)

****Safety and Housekeeping****

? Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the O.H.S.A.

? Follow and ensure the companys procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are

followed throughout the plant.

? Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to Formets safety rules and

regulations.

? Active role in maintaining excellent housekeeping through leading by example.

? Ensure that your department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times.

? As with Safety, Security is everyones responsibility and Formet requires its employees to

contribute to this activity by immediately notifying your supervisor when you identify

security issues that affect the integrity of our supply chain, in accordance with PIP (Partners

in Protection) and C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) requirements.
