Located in the heart of town, the 97-room Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection, continues to retain its identity as one of the great hotels of the American West. Hotel Jerome is home to many food and beverage outlets including a renovated Aspen Times newspaper building, residential-style suites facing Ajax Mountain, and a sultry underground bar Bad Harriet. The 130-year-old historic landmark boasts luxurious, contemporary accommodations and modern amenities that honor the propertys iconic mountain spirit. Considered as one of Aspens favorite places since it opened in 1889 at the height of Aspens boomtown silver-mining era, the hotel features Prospect, an American bistro; aprs-ski favorite the Living Room bar and lounge; the award-winning Auberge Spa; and the legendary J-Bar, which is lauded as an Aspen institution. Hotel Jerome was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

**Role Summary**

Cross Trained- Dual role between concierge and spa. Concierge: Assist guests providing an array of services calculated to make their stay easier and more pleasurable, including dining reservations, recreational bookings, transportation arrangements, information, and any services that are best suited to the guests needs. The Concierge is an individual dedicated to his/her profession beyond the norm, making a personal commitment to visit venues in order to enable personal recommendations. Spa: Book appointments via email, phone, and in person. Maintain a calm and collected demeanor while multitasking the needs to maintain the stocking and cleanliness of the facility. Suggest enhancements to service when appropriate and follow through on elements of related service.

**Core Responsibilities**

* Maintain the areas in a spotless condition and maintain the common areas of the spa in between appointments.

* Knowledge of all aspects of the treatments and the ability to recommend and suggestive selling.

* Process spa reservations, billing and meet and greet all guests as they arrive and depart from their treatments.

* Support all aspects of retail: Guest assistance, product display, product inventory, suggestive selling, and merchandising.

* Reconcile all discrepancies for retail, classes and treatments with guests or advise a Manager.

* Handle guest complaints or problem immediately, ensuring guest satisfaction. Communicate all of the above to management to ensure communication to all necessary departments.

* Use good judgment and maintain discretion and diplomacy while performing job duties.

* Participate in all designated programs, meetings and training.

* Maintain complete knowledge at all times of:

- All resort features/services, hours of operation;

- All room types, layout, decor, appointments and locations;

- All room rates, special packages and promotions;

- Daily house count and expected arrivals/departures;

- Room availability status for any given day; and

- Scheduled daily group activities.

* ??Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all resort and departmental policies and procedures

* Review arrivals prior to approaching desk and be familiar with all Hotel guests, special requirements and potential problems. Meet with departing shift member to ensure follow through.

* Ensure that all guests receive personal, individual and professional treatment.

* Provide guests with information, descriptions, directions and reservations for all resort services, local restaurants, wineries, activities, travel arrangements and other points of interest.

* Answer department telephones within three rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette

* Accommodate all requests for information in congenial manner.

* Work closely with front office and other guest relations departments on special requests and amenities

* Coordinate guest history with front office, reservations, housekeeping and room service.

* Develop good relationships with peers in local restaurants and wineries.

* Coordinate special attention for birthdays, anniversaries or special events

* Maintain updated knowledge of the area, its facilities and points of interest.

* Handle guest complaints or problems immediately, ensuring guest satisfaction.

* Accurately input guest data into guest history.

* Assist in other front office operational duties, as needed.

* Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments/personnel.

* Maintain follow-up log for communication between concierge shifts.

* Plan and coordinate weekly events for owners. Prepare newsletter for guests.

* Submit all lost & found articles accompanied by a lost & found report.

**Pay Range**

* This is an hourly, non-exempt position with an hourly pay rate of $18.00.

**Skills and Abilities**

* Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English, both orally and in writing, using correct spelling and grammar, with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding, both in person and by telephone.

* Ability to provide clear and legible written communication.

* Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.

* Ability to input and access data in a computer.

* Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure and maintain organized areas

* Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and designated resort data.

* Ability to prioritize and follow up on work assignments.

**Required Qualifications**

* Guest service experience

* Combination of education and experience

* Excellent service, etiquette and protocol skills and knowledge

* Knowledge of the Aspen area, its geography, restaurants, events, sights and other places of interest.

* Basic knowledge of computers and ability to learn multiple software programs.

* Ability to speak and write English fluently.
