The Deployment Network Engineer is a member of the Site Survey workstream, is responsible for the design and execution of all customer site installations following the findings from the site survey. They will own integrity and governance of a system/software solution, including best practices for delivering services. Develop, deploy and support infrastructures, applications, software solutions and technology initiatives from an architectural and operational perspective in conjunction with existing standards and methods of delivery.


Job Responsibilities

  • Understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals (e.g. DNS, FTP, SSH, ACL, VLAN, DMZ, BGP), general networking technologies, network architecture and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Understanding of network cable types cat 5, cat 6 (copper), ST, FC, SC, LC duplex, MT-RJ (fiber optic)
  • Understanding of workstation video and USB connector types and converters
  • Understanding of TEMPEST guidelines as they apply to LAN systems
  • Understanding of typical comms architectures with a Demark, comms closet, and boundaries in a secure environment
  • Understanding of systems and facility accreditations
  • Experience or exposure to a hosting providers, online services, or internet service provider environment is preferred. This time must include troubleshooting routing, switching, and load balancing in a complex networking environment.
  • CCNA or CCNP certification preferred
  • Thorough experience performing packet capture analysis or running Wireshark is highly desirable.

  • Determines network and system requirements.
  • Plans, designs and develops local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
  • Installs computer networks such as local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, and other data communications systems.
  • Installs server hardware and software infrastructure.
  • Designs, deploys, and troubleshoots mid-scale network deployments.
  • Develops designs and plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception to conclusion.
  • Supports network and computing infrastructure.
  • Configures networking hardware to latest industry and manufacturer standards and best practices.
  • Configures hardware and software for the user environment.
  • Provides and updates training materials and documentation.
  • Plans and oversees appropriate, routine tests to ensure the proper working condition and security of developed and purchased network systems.
  • Builds, supports and maintains the protection of company data and systems through the use of security solutions, backups, redundancy and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Investigates and analyzes resource utilization and prepares reports and metrics, making appropriate changes to optimize the network infrastructure and provide the highest possible level of performance and security.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field or equivalent relevant experience.
