Role Description
- Perform monomer synthesis, purification, and characterization.
- Design, synthesize, modify, and purify diverse polymer materials with specific physical-chemical properties and purity requirements.
- Conduct polymerization up to kilograms scale.
- Characterize the monomer/polymer material by various methods (NMR, GC, HPLC, GPC, DSC, TGA, and MS).
- Proficiency in documenting laboratory procedures and results is required.
- Document synthetic procedure and research results for intellectual property
- Effectively communicate research outcomes to peers and business management.
- Help maintain analytical instruments (GPC, DSC, and TGA).
Qualifications
- PhD or MS in Polymer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in polymer synthesis and characterization techniques such as NMR, GPC, DSC, and TGA.
- Strong understanding of organic chemistry, polymerization chemistry, and reaction kinetics.
- Experience in analyzing the structure-property relationship of polymeric materials.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and developing novel polymers for specific applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and work independently.
