This facility is part of our Prepared Foods business unit and manufactures Williams Sausage.


SUMMARY: The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician position is responsible for:

  • Performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems then documenting, and calculating results accurately
  • Taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, & isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management;
  • Any additional assignments requested.
  • All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 25 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks. Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce; good problem identification and problem solving skills; math and organizational skills; ability to read and interpret product specifications; must function well under stress; must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Position involves heavy lifting (70 lbs. or more).
