Job Details

As a Labor and Employment Attorney, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on a wide range of employment-related matters and representing them in litigation when necessary. You will have the opportunity to work closely with clients to develop proactive strategies to address employment law issues and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on various labor and employment law matters, including hiring and termination practices, wage and hour compliance, discrimination and harassment claims, and employee benefits.
  • Draft and review employment-related agreements, policies, and procedures, including employment contracts, severance agreements, and employee handbooks.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).
  • Handle all aspects of employment-related litigation, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, preparing for and attending hearings and trials, and negotiating settlements.
  • Stay abreast of developments in labor and employment law and advise clients on potential implications for their businesses.


Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar, in good standing.
  • 5-7+ years of experience practicing labor and employment law, with a focus on representing employers.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and California employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
