Our client is a leading energy advisory firm specializing in providing strategic financial advisory services regarding acquisitions and divestitures to clients across the upstream oil and gas sector.

Job Description:

  • As an Investment Banking Associate, you will play a pivotal role in leading and executing complex acquisitions and divestitures within the upstream sector and providing strategic advice to clients such as top operating companies, mineral and royalty organizations, investment management firms, and private equity firms. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Transaction Execution: Lead and manage all aspects of deal execution, including financial analysis, due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and documentation.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs, and providing tailored financial solutions.
  • Industry Expertise: Leverage your industry expertise to identify potential opportunities and drive business development efforts.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, providing them with guidance, training, and support.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment, to evaluate potential investment opportunities and guide decision-making processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in investment banking.
  • 6-9 years of reservoir engineering experience if no experience in investment banking.
  • Experience with PHDWin, Aries, or ComboCurve
  • Strong track record of leading and executing successful acquisitions and divestitures in the upstream sector, capital raising, and other financial advisory projects.
  • Deep industry knowledge and understanding of market dynamics in the specified sectors.
  • Exceptional analytical, financial modeling, and valuation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, senior executives, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to manage and motivate a team.
