Job description:
- Data Architecture Design: Lead the design and development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance data architectures on the Microsoft Azure platform. This includes defining data models, schemas, and structures to support business needs and analytical requirements.
- Azure Data Service Selection: Evaluate and recommend appropriate Azure data services and technologies (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Cosmos DB) based on business requirements, performance considerations, and cost-effectiveness.
- Data Integration: Design and implement data integration solutions to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources into Azure data platforms. This may involve ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and real-time streaming solutions.
- Data Security and Compliance: Implement security measures and data governance policies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data stored and processed in Azure data environments. This includes encryption, access controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Performance Optimization: Optimize Azure data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. This involves tuning queries, optimizing data models, and implementing caching and indexing strategies to improve query performance and reduce latency.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for Azure data platforms to ensure data availability and minimize downtime in the event of system failures or disasters.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, developers, and other IT teams to understand data requirements, define solution architectures, and ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Documentation and Best Practices: Document data architectures, design decisions, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and maintainability of Azure data solutions.
