**How youll impact our mission:**

At San Diego Humane Society, were united by our mission to Inspire Compassion, providing hope and advancing the welfare of animals and people. In this role, youll have the opportunity to provide daily care and enrichment for our shelter animals. Our Animal Caregivers are responsible for the general care and maintenance of shelter animals including feeding, cleaning, disinfecting, grooming, vaccinating, medicating and possibly performing euthanasia.

**What youll do:**

* Complete daily cleaning routines in a timely manner, maintaining assigned area in a clean, organized and professional manner.

* Provide kennel enrichment, train, exercise and socialize animals in assigned area as time permits.

* Administer daily medications, vaccinations and other treatments as appropriate.

* Perform dog introductions and facilitate dog play groups with multiple dogs, following current protocols.

* Monitor animals daily and record details of diet, physical condition, elimination and behavior.

* Monitor the health of shelter animals; follow established procedures if symptoms of illness arise based on the degree of illness or injury.

**What were looking for:**

* High school graduate or equivalent.

**Location & Hours:** Based at our Oceanside Campus. These positions work approximately 24-28 hours a week.

**Pay:** Starts at $16.00 per hour. The hourly rate is determined by your related education and experience.
