ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Clerical Services

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
  2. Demonstrates willingness to be a team player.
  3. Assists secretary with receptionist duties and acts a receptionist for the school setting a positive tone for students, parents, staff and community.
  4. Assists visitors to the school.
  5. Assists in the overall duties in the front office including taking calls, routing calls, taking messages, routing mail and faxes maintaining staff mailboxes and mailroom area.
  6. Demonstrates proficient computer capabilities and appropriate use of all office equipment.
  7. Assists in preparation of mailings and distribution of flyers, as needed.
  8. Files records and memos, as needed.
  9. Translates for parents and Administration, as needed.
  10. Assists sick children if the school nurse is absent including administration of medication according to policy and regulations.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal, Principal's Secretary or Assistant Administrator.


EDUCATION:
  • High school graduate
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work successfully with parents, school personnel and students.
  • Good keyboarding.
  • Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish-English).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is almost continuously required to sit, and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to walk and stand. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and continuously will repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion many times as in typing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this particular environment. However, the noise level can vary depending upon daily activity but will still remain within the acceptable noise level range. The employee continuously is interacting with the public, staff and students. The employee frequently will be required to meet multiple demands from several people.
