Cardinal Point Captains, Inc. (CPC) is seeking a Steward Assistant to work aboard the Environmental Protection Agency s (EPA s) research vessel (R/V) Lake Guardian, which can accommodate up to 42 people when fully loaded. However, typical operational days on the water are 20 30 people.

The R/V Lake Guardian berths at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences Marine Facilities dock in Milwaukee, Wisconsin when not conducting survey operations throughout the Great Lakes.

Tasks/Duties
The Steward Assistant is vital in ensuring comfort aboard the research vessel. This position involves a variety of hospitality and housekeeping tasks designed to maintain high standards of cleanliness. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.

Meal Service:
Assist in setting up dining areas for meals.
Assists vessel cook in the preparation of meals.
Cleans galley and dining area after each meal.

Housekeeping:
Clean and prepare crew cabins before and during voyages, ensuring they meet the ship's cleanliness standards.
Change bed linens, towels, and other cabin amenities as needed.

Public Area Cleaning:
Maintain cleanliness and order in public areas, including lounges, corridors, and restrooms.
Perform regular cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces

Laundry:
Assist in washing, drying, and folding linens, and towels for guests and crew.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of laundered items to cabins and crew quarters.
Operate and maintain laundry machines and equipment.
Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the captain.

Inventory Management:
Keep track of housekeeping and laundry supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
Replenish supplies in guest cabins and public areas as needed.
Organize and maintain storage areas for cleaning supplies, linens, and other materials.
Assist in receiving and storing inventory shipments.

Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and high service standards.
Participate in ongoing training sessions to improve skills and knowledge of safety procedures.
Participate in regular safety drills and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
