Job Description

Position Summary

Peer Math Aide - a part time student employee - who will be assisting the El Mapa Matemtico/Math Map (Title V) Department with:

* 15 hours weekly, per semester

* Experience in MATH 120, MATH 124, MATH 126 - passed with a B or better

* Attend Mapa co-requisite courses weekly and provide support to Math Faculty and students

* Provide tutoring for assigned Mapa enhanced Math course

* Lead/Facilitate workshops pertaining to personal and career development

* Collect questionnaire after each workshop and report back to Mapa Math Navigators/Coordinators

* Work closely and report back weekly to Mapa Math Navigators/Coordinators

* Help prepare students for La Cumbre, Math summit at end of year

* Help with Marketing and Social Media efforts

Minimum Qualifications

* Must have successfully completed embedded class requirement with a B or better

* Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA

* Knowledge of tutoring and teaching techniques.

* Experience working with diverse student populations.

* Experience working with students with a range of math needs.

Preferred Qualifications

* Spanish speaking preferred

* Online tutoring experience

* Experience planning/implementing of student workshops
