Job Title: Leader-Camp

Job Family: Camp

Position Summary:
Provide supervision and guidance to a group of campers participating in designated program activities.
Essential Functions:
Supervise other camp staff in the development and initiation of camping activities.
Prepare and implement schedules for programs, facility usage, and staff assignments.
Monitor and provide guidance to assigned staff and campers in areas of health and safety, team building, and interpersonal relationships.
Initiate feedback activities for staff to monitor and communicate camper progress and areas for improvement.
Counsel staff on problem resolution issues; administer disciplinary action in accordance with camp standards.
Contribute ideas and suggestions for improvement to camp management in areas of program participation growth, camper satisfaction, and retention of campers.
Maintain awareness of potential health and safety issues, identify hazards, take appropriate action to resolve.

Qualifications:
Minimum 20 years of age.
High School graduate or equivalent; minimum one year college preferred.
Experience working with children in day camp setting.
Ability to lead, direct, and assign the work of others.
Ability to interact effectively with children and parents on a range of issues.
Experience in problem identification and resolution.
Certified, or ability to become certified, within the first 30 days of hire in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention.

Physical Demands:
Required to lift and/or move on occasion up to 50 pounds.
Required to demonstrate physical stamina and agility, and stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, run, and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and communicate verbally in a noisy environment.

Compensation: $15.50 - $16.28 per hour
