We re hiring a Senior Accountant directly to our client that s located in Columbus, OH!
We are looking for an accurate, meticulous Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting functions, month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. You will lead accounting projects and provide recommendations based on insights from the numbers.
The Senior Accountant is a critical role ensuring integrity of financial data through reconciliations, reporting, and oversight. This position serves as a lead for the accounting team and key finance contact for cross-functional senior leaders.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly close process including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial roll forwards
- Prepare month-end, quarterly and year-end financial statements
- Analyze revenue and expenditure accounts to provide financial insight
- Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Research technical accounting issues and recommend solutions
- Improve processes by assessing effectiveness and implementing enhancements
- Coach and mentor Staff Accountants to develop skills
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years experience in a senior accountant role
- CPA credential preferred
- Excellent understanding of accounting systems and GAAP
- Strong leadership abilities
- Keen analytical mindset able to derive financial insights
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
