Responsibilities:

What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems has an immediate need for a Survey CAD Technician in its Clearwater Florida Survey Practice. In this position, the candidate will work directly with surveyors, engineers, and other technicians to assist in the development of survey plats, base maps and construction documents for a variety of projects in the private, state, municipal and federal sectors. This is not a remote work position.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the production of maps and drawings
  • Responsible for accurate calculations in support of construction staking
  • Perform research of legal and land record data
  • Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations, ordinances, and other orders. As well as all company policies, procedures, and directives from supervisors.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
  • Must be available to travel and work overtime occasionally.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.


Qualifications:

What you bring to our firm:

  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience with AutoCAD, experience with Carlson a plus.
  • Experience processing survey field data and developing drawings for survey projects
  • Experience with Florida Chapter 472 and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys mapping requirements
  • Works well within a team environment
  • Works well under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills

Machines, Tools and Equipment:

  • Operate standard office equipment (i.e., personal computer, facsimile, copy machine, etc.)
  • Operate standard field equipment from time to time or the willingness to learn (i.e., total station, GPS, data collector, etc)

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds daily
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (Zoom, Teams, Phone, etc) and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at the same time

Working Conditions:

  • Work in indoor environment 95% of the time
  • Moderate noise level
  • Site visits / map checks

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
  • Ability to adapt to changing software/hardware platforms
