Responsibilities:
Environmental Analysis
- Develop effective measurement systems for aircraft engine emissions.
- Conduct measurements and analysis of emissions from aircraft engines.
- Convey findings to improve emissions certification procedures.
- Conduct experiments and analyses to understand environmental impacts.
- Assist in stakeholder engagement and NEPA guidance for commercial space activities.
- Conduct environmental data analyses on commercial space launches.
- Conduct environmental analyses of UAS and AAM activities.
Policy Development and Rulemaking for Airport Safety and Environmental Matters
- Provide technical and regulatory support for airport development projects.
- Design and conduct environmental analyses of aviation requirements and policies.
- Support the development and review of environmental policies and regulations.
- Provide regulatory support for UAS and AAM operational projects.
Airport Environmental Streamlining Initiatives
- Provide technical assistance for streamlining environmental reviews.
- Analyze environmental findings and recommend best practices.
- Support airport compliance with environmental statutes.
Environmental Policy and Operations Support
- Conduct policy and economic analysis of environmental matters.
- Provide technical expertise for environmental policy development.
- Support development of environmental training materials.
Conference, Committee, and Working Group Support:
- Plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, and participate in conferences, planning sessions, committees, and working groups.
- Provide administrative and technical support for these activities, including agenda development, speaker recommendations, logistics, and reporting on meeting progress and findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, aviation management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in environmental management, aviation regulations, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of environmental laws, regulations, and policies, including NEPA, FAA regulations, and international aviation standards.
- Experience in conducting environmental assessments, analyses, and impact studies.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and environmental modeling tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in developing technical documentation and training materials.
- Knowledge of commercial space activities and their environmental implications is desirable.
