PURPOSE AND JOB SUMMARY

The Treasury Accountant is responsible for preparing, processing and tracking treasury activity for Low Income Housing Funds. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of wire transfers, deposits of checks, updating the general ledger and reconciling the bank accounts managed by the Funds and Company.

This position is located at the Boston Financial headquarters in Boston, MA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare daily/weekly check deposits as well as updating the cash management spreadsheet, Kyriba and cash activity logs, including notification of returned checks
  • Record lockbox check deposits allocations into the cash management spreadsheet and the GL.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and year end closings as well as the annual audit process
  • Reconcile Fund cash entries with the bank and Epicor on a monthly basis/research and resolve all variances
  • Responsible for preparation of Corporate cash entries to Kyriba
  • Upload cash receipts/payment support to OnBase (document retention software)
  • Collect, track, and file all monthly bank statements as well as distributing them to various Accounting and Asset Management personnel
  • Complete daily and weekly cash reconciliation, send out account balances to appropriate contacts
  • Interface with Accounting, outside auditors and other company personnel to research cash activity/balance and supporting documentation items
  • Enter bank transfers/wires into various banking portals/Kyriba(accounting software), update cash management spreadsheets, enter in GL information into Epicor and send out Fed Reference email to appropriate contacts
  • Dedicated backup to the Accounts Payable Coordinator.
  • Respond to ad-hoc information requests as needed from internal/external groups


EDUCATION, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline required
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • MS Excel spreadsheet skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based, sales-oriented (i.e., fast-paced) environment, pitching in wherever needed to achieve Team objectives.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and communicate effectively with senior management
  • Demonstrate ability to think critically and creative problem-solving
  • Attention to detail


PREFERRED
  • Experience using Epicor accounting software
  • Project Management experience
