Job Location: Canyon Fuel Company
Overall Job Purpose:
Canyon Fuel Company, LLC, a subsidiary of Wolverine Fuels, operates two underground coal mines in central Utah and has an immediate opening for a full-time Environmental Engineer.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Maintain environmental permits with regulatory agencies (BLM, USFS, DOGM)
* Monitor mining operation to assure compliance that all environmental regulatory permits
* Accompany agency personnel during environmental inspections
* Plan and manage projects associated with environmental compliance
Preferred Education & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mining/Civil/Environmental), Environmental Science, or equivalent experience
* Excellent planning and organizational skills
* Strong communication (listening, verbal, written) and interpersonal skills
* General understanding of engineering principles (material science, water/waste-water, soil/rock mechanics, hydraulics/pump networks, economics)
* Excellent computer skills (AutoCAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
* Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering License (PE)
* Experience in underground continuous and longwall mining methods
* Experience in regulatory (MSHA, BLM, USFS and/or DOGM) permitting and compliance
* Experience in project management
