Candidates are required to work together with their co-teacher on completing daily activities for the classroom which include but are not limited to; implementing curriculum, changing diapers, feeding, cleaning, and sanitizing. Hourly Pay varies depending on experience and degree level. Qualifications


  • Must meet basic requirements of local and state child care regulatory agency

  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program required

  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children

  • Must be able to list 35 pounds in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Teacher Responsibilities




  • Instruct early preschool and or preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth

  • Supervision and daily class functions of a group of children

  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment

  • Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Chantilly and the local, state, and national agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children

  • Support each childs social and emotional development and provide positive guidance

  • Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis

  • Implements the approved Curriculum plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming

  • Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence

  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior

  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds

  • Communicate with parents on students growth and progress

  • Attends all staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions

  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines in the Primrose School of Chantilly Employee Handbook

  • Assists in other capacities that Director determines necessary
