You will be responsible for designing, developing, and bringing to production the next generation ATLIS Traction Motors and gear reduction systems. Atlis Motor Vehicles is developing an EV truck platform as well as a number of proprietary technologies. You will be part of a career defining development. **Key Responsibilities:**
* Design and development of magnetic rotor and stator systems of the ATLIS Traction motor assembly.
* Design and development of gear reduction system and integration with the ATLIS Drive Module.
* Design and development of the integration of ATLIS power electronics and control systems for ATLIS Traction Motors, braking, and steering control systems.
* Conducting engineering testing and validation of design solutions for ATLIS Electric drive systems, traction motor, gear reduction integration, and power electronics integration solutions.
* Researching and engaging with individual component and material suppliers as part of the program.
* Working with manufacturing teams to bring ATLIS Traction motor, gear reduction, and integration assemblies to market.
* Engage with supply chain, quality, validation, and manufacturing groups to ensure ATLIS Traction motor, gear reduction, and integration assemblies meet all critical business and performance objectives.
* Design and development of thermal management system and integrations for traction, gearbox, and controller systems.
* Design and development of controller enclosures.
* Defining mechanical and system requirements
**Ideally, you have experience with:**
* Sheetmetal
* Metal casting part and design
* Plastic molding and design requirements
* Experience in fastener selection and component design for fastening
* Electrical systems
* Electro-mechanical design requirements
* Metal bonding techniques
* Motor magnetic principles and requirements
* Plastic molding and design requirements
* Thermal management systems such as heat exchangers, heat transfer, liquid cooling
* Developing, building, or converting an EV
* Should have a good understanding of basic physics principles
* Capable of building fundamental mathematical models to ensure design meets performance criteria
**and youre someone who is:**
* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
* 3 years of CAD modeling experience (Solidworks, Catia, Fusion 360, or other)
* 3-5 years of mechanical component and assembly design experience
* Excellent communicator
* Creative & critical thinker
* Self-starter who is willing to get their hands dirty
* Team player who is excited by rapid development cycles
