Primary Job Functions: Assist the bus driver in the safe transportation of students.
Minimum Qualifications and Credentials Required
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
Possess Skills and Knowledge: Communicates effectively with staff, students, and parents.
Experience: Prefer experience working with children or in an educational environment.
Other:
4.1 Minimum age of eighteen.
4.2 A person of good moral character.
4.3 A person is not under the influence of alcohol during work hours, and who does not use of narcotic drugs.
4.4 The governing body of any school corporation may, at any time, require any school bus monitor to submit to a physical examination by a licensed physician selected by the school corporation (I.C. 20-9.1-3-1).
4.5 All aides/monitors must pass a physical standards test given in conjuction with the renewal of their physical fitness certificate.
4.6 Aides/monitors cannot text while on the school bus. Cell phones can only be used for an emergency to notify transportation.
4.7 Prospective employees are required to train for and pass a timed proficiency test as a prerequitite to being hired.
- Physical Requirements:
5.1 Good eye-hand coordination.
5.2 Health and general physical condition that enable the candidate to accomplish the duties required.
5.3 Be physically clean, neat and well groomed in such a way that dress or hair style does not disrupt the educational process or cause a health or safety hazard.
5.4 Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
5.5 Sufficient agility to work in and around equipment.
SALARY BENEFITS: $17.94. - $19.47 per hour
