Job Summary: Knik is looking for a Traffic Control Flagger

Davis Bacon Wages - Per Contract

Responsibilities

  • Worker controls the movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects:
  • Discusses traffic plans and the type and location of control devices per supervisor.
  • Distributes traffic control signs and markers along the site in designated traffic movement patterns through the site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.
  • Warns construction/utility workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals, accidents, and injury to workers.
  • Informs drivers of detour routes through work sites.

Requirements

  • Highway (Road) Flaggers must be certified by ATSSA
  • Traffic Control Supervisor must be certified by ATSSA
  • Flagging Level I must be certified by IMSA
  • Work Zone Specialist must be certified by IMSA
  • Strong verbal communication skills, ability to read and, write, and good eye-hand coordination
  • Ability to quickly respond appropriately to unexpected events
  • Employee needs to be able to work without supervision
  • As this job may require long periods of standing being subjected to adverse weather conditions, the flagger must be in good physical condition
  • Good eyesight (correction vision if needed) and hearing
  • Pre-hire drug test
