NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: Maintainer - Licensed Plumber / HVAC Technician, District-Wide
40 hours per week
HOURLY WAGES: $35.73 per hour and full benefits as provided in Custodial/Maintenance and General Service Employee' Union Agreement.
DUTIES
- Plumbing experience includes but is not limited to repairs and/or new installations to domestic water systems, sanitary systems including grease traps, ejection pumps, roof drain lines and condensate lines. Performs inspections of backflows and repairs as required by MDC inspectors. Ability to interpret blueprints, troubleshoot and trace out problems. Knowledge of septic systems and well water systems including testing and performing treatment effluent monitoring reports per DPH drinking water regulations. Certified Operator license or ability to obtain from DPH, Drinking Water Division. Works closely with other skilled tradesmen to accomplish minor or major renovations. Ability to layout work plan and direct helpers. Ability to estimate job with needed parts, materials and obtain approval to purchase materials for projects. Maintains inventory in workshop and work van.
- HVAC experience in various heating, piping and cooling repair tasks, including sheet metal work, arc welding and brazing. Experience in boilers, chillers, VRF's, and building management systems a must. Investigates and determines source of problems on heating/cooling equipment malfunctions. Responsible for making routine building maintenance and repair decisions. Completes tasks requested by Director and Facility Manager or the Supervisor of Custodial Services.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must hold P2 Plumbing License and S-2 Heating, Piping and Cooling License
- Minimum of 6 years of Building Maintenance experience including Plumbing & HVAC requirements.
- Connecticut Class 2 Driver's License
