Data Center Technician
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM
We are hiring Data Center Technicians to help support our Fortune Top 10 cloud computing client as they prepare for a global initiative in drastically expanding their data center presence in the Northern VA area. To meet the demand required for this exciting growth, they are performing protocol upgrades on all their Data Centers. This includes upgrading and installing HAC (Hot Aisle Containment) systems to optimize the effectiveness of their data center cooling strategy. This is a hands-on role working within a world class, state-of-the-art data center facility in the Northern Virginia region.
Qualifications:
- Technical training or certifications in data center operations, infrastructure, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or related fields preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Experience using hand and power tools for fabrication, assembly, and installation of containment materials is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to follow technical drawings, diagrams, and installation instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver objects, work in confined spaces, and safely perform tasks at elevated heights within a data center environment.
Responsibilities:
- Install hot aisle containment wrap systems in accordance with engineering specifications and best practices to optimize airflow management and cooling efficiency within the data centers.
- Work closely with facilities team leads to ensure alignment with overall data center design and layout.
- Customize containment materials as needed to fit specific data center layouts and configurations.
- Perform inspections of HAC wrap systems to identify and address any issues or deficiencies.
- Repair containment wrap components as needed to ensure uninterrupted operation of data center cooling systems.
- Document installation activities, maintenance procedures, and system configurations.
