At Allozymes we are solving all these issues with our proprietary technology. We engineer enzymes for stability, activity, multifunctionality, enantioselectivity and even more in less than 6 months with a 200X higher chance of success and more accessible costing compared to the microtiter technology. We have 2 business models including service as a fee and licensing of our biosolutions. To fulfil our vision, Allozymes is expanding into the US market and looking for a VP/Senior Director of Business Development who can join the business team to make this company achieve its dreams, missions and reach greater heights.


In this position, you will work directly with the CEO, Peyman, and our Director of BD in Europe, Audrey at Allozymes. You will be responsible for the full P&L in the US market.


Responsibilities

  • Full P&L responsibility for the US market: build deal flow, negotiate, close sales, achieve quarterly business and revenue targets.
  • Shape and iterate our business development team and BD strategy in the North American market.
  • Identify the market trend and shape the business model based on customer evolving needs in the industrial chemical and Pharma space.
  • Securing strategic partnership for the commercialization of our biosolutions.
  • Manage the key customers in the US and communicate the needs to the R&D and engineering team.
  • Define various revenue and cost models for our biosolutions and be a key commercial contributor to our biosolution roadmap.
  • Take a lead role in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships
  • Conduct research to identify new market opportunities and develop a granular understanding of competitors and new tech trends
  • Attend the board and shareholders meetings and report on the customer projects status, financials and customer demand forecasts
  • Requirements & Qualifications

    • Business savvy with a Masters or Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology or Chemical engineering, or a related field.
    • Domain expert in biocatalysis, industrial chemicals, biopharma with 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, finance, or corporate strategy roles.
    • Prior knowledge and experience in the CDMO business in the US for enzyme engineering and Licensing deals for biosolution.
    • Hunger to be a catalyst for something big, build the future of bioeconomy
    • Analytic and creative thinker, innovative, proactive with a willingness to learn and optimistic.
    • Have the ability to implement new business models, take ownership and drive operational tasks to facilitate company s growth as well as play a key role in driving strategic decisions.
    • Possess exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate compelling value propositions of our products and our service.
    • Passionate in building lasting customer relationships & partnerships and stellar deal making abilities.
    • Have the mindset to work in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity and a strong motivation to make a successful career within technology startups.
    • Frame, negotiate and execute customer agreements, including IP terms, Licensing agreement, JDAs and sales agreements (together with legal experts)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to deliver presentations. (Multi language is a plus)
    • Self-starter with ability to organize work with minimal guidance
