The Design CAD Specialist role is a full-time position, some travel is required. This position will report to the Director of Design.
You will be responsible for:
- Working as part of a design team supporting daily AutoCAD specific tasks.
- Create accurate CAD drawings from sketches, photos, verbal instructions, and site visit reports.
- Responsible for Developing, Testing, and Maintaining a CAD Template to produce Electrical Design Sets of drawings.
- Address CAD template update, custom sheet, and break/fix requests.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- A two-year degree in Computer Aided Drafting - preferred
- Excellent communications skills; listening, comprehension and feedback
- Willingness to learn new technology and software, for example: Procore, Smartsheets, Google Sheets/Excel, Helioscope, PVSyst
- A passion for doing high quality work
- Excellent communication and high attention to detail is a MUST
- The ability to think critically, innovate, and solve challenging technical problems
- Team oriented, specifically comfort working with fully remote team members
- Strong work ethic and ability to handle peak work times
- Interest in commercial electrical design and solar photovoltaic design - preferred
- Familiarity with 3D modeling (Sketchup), BIM (Revit), and Coding experience are a plus
