Position summary:

It is the responsibility of the Roll-Up Operator to properly roll up the production on the A-frames or cores at the end of the backing line.

Educational requirements:

High school diploma or GED

Skills and experience:

  • Previous textile experience preferred
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Meet license requirements for powered material handling equipment
  • Fork-lift experience preferred


Essential duties:
  • Cut end of product roll at the seam
  • Begin roll-up of new product roll on the A-frame or core.
  • Use tugger to transport A-frames
  • Use lift truck to transport backing rolls
  • Bring empty A-frames to line and properly set them up when running carpet.
  • Place core in place and start rolls of backing keeping them square.
  • Make sure all rolls are properly tagged.
  • Key production and carpet locations into Production system
  • Maintain housekeeping
  • Comply with safety rules
  • Comply with environmental regulations
  • Be aware of departmental material safety data sheets (MSDS) Ensure ISO procedures are followed.
  • Understand and support Interface's commitment to sustainability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Occasional 10 or 12 hour shifts Lifting up to 50 pounds Work environment: Non-climate controlled factory environment
