Position Name: Gaming Technician ILocation: Flinstone (Cumberland), Maryland (at the Rocky Gap Casino Resort)Shift: VariesHours: To Be Determined (TBD)Employment Status: FULL TIMESUMMARYResponsible for the repair and maintenance of all electronic gaming devices (EGD), primarily slot machines as well as automated teller machines (ATM).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESHandles floor repair and proper preventive maintenance of all EGDs and slot machines as well as ATMs, including cleaning, overhauls, etc.Handles the repair, overhaul, and proper preventative maintenance of all EGDs and slot machines as well as ATMs in accordance with gaming regulations.Handles the initial setup and checkout of new EGDs and slot machines as well as ATMs.Assists the management in the breakdown, relocation and setup of EGDs, slot machines as well as ATMs and stands.Assists Slot Floor staff in verifying jackpots as needed.Assists in ensuring EGD and slot machine as well as ATM integrity when jackpots occur and at other times requested.Maintains current knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as property internal controls, policies and procedures.Brings disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of a supervisor and/or security.Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.Performs routine maintenance on, and repair, all EGDs and slot machines as well as ATMs on the gaming floor.Expected to demonstrate increased proficiency in the use of all test equipment provided by the department.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, and skills required of personnel so classified.Promotes the following within the department and among all employees:Creates an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all employees, by setting positive examples at all times.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSPossesses knowledge of moving mechanical parts, gaming devices, electronics and electrical functions.Understands and carries out detailed verbal and written instructionsWillingness to work varied shifts and overtime as required, pass the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) check and have a valid state driver s license and a clean driving record, and be able to obtain the necessary state, local and tribal gaming license(s). Must also be able to pass a security background check and pass a for-cause and pre-employment drug test.Training: Gaming equipment, gaming system products and gaming industry training will be provided.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED and one year slot floor experience. Electronics degree preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and understand EGD and slot machine as well as ATM technical manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to develop and maintain a strong relationship with casino technical staff. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. Ability to specify and develop queries/reports using a range of software. Ability to think logically and follow detailed instructions.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Uses hand trucks, power, jack and other various electrical or mechanical equipment. Stoops over, kneels and crouches while repairing gaming devices. Pushes, pulls, and maneuvers gaming devices, up to 100 pounds, for the purpose of installation, repair or maintenance.WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
