What You Will Do

The Production Scheduler has the primary responsibility of creating weekly production schedules for a manufacturing environment consisting of multiple production lines in a 24/7 facility. The qualified individual will ensure that the production schedules satisfy customer demand while supporting plant safety and efficiency goals. Strong collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance will be critical to meeting key goals for this role.


NOTE: this position will be expected to work onsite Monday-Friday at our Ennis, TX facility.


How You Will Make An Impact

  • Develops a weekly manufacturing schedule to establish and maintain finished goods inventory at target levels
  • Works with Freshpet Planning Team to align on weekly plans relative to available production capacity
  • Responsible for efficient sequencing of manufacturing runs to optimize equipment utilization, in accordance with QA/R&D guidelines
  • Monitor and maintain production shop orders in ERP/APS systems
  • Evaluates daily production data, inventory levels, and inventory coverage targets to adjust future production schedules
  • Setup & maintain scheduling system master data and tables
  • Works with Procurement to ensure material availability for scheduled production
  • Works with R&D and other functions to schedule, coordinate, and manage test runs
  • Actively previews, communicates, and coordinates the production schedule with Operations to ensure effective and efficient manufacturing execution
  • Proactively resolves issues that might prevent schedules from being completed to plan
  • Reports and monitors schedule attainment, working collaboratively to schedule future production runs within operating parameters


What You Will Bring

  • BS in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or Logistics (preferred)
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in a production scheduling role at a direct manufacturer (required)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (advanced Excel), ERP/APS (Microsoft Dynamics 365, OpCenter APS preferred)
  • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Extremely high standards of excellence and quality-oriented mindset
  • Independent self-starter able to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
  • Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent computer skills in enterprise ERP/MRP systems
