Green Ivy Educational Consulting (www.greenivyed.com) is a social enterprise organization committed to helping every student develop their own road map for success.


We are known for our work on executive functioning skills (organization, planning, prioritization, adaptable thinking). Our work directly supports our non-profit initiative, Luminaria Learning (www.luminarialearning.org) bringing our work into schools across the country. Luminaria's Life Navigator School Program currently works with schools to support executive functioning skills development.


We are looking for two amazing individuals to join our team in our Bay Area office starting in August 2024. The work will be a combination of direct service with students, to help understand our approach and methods, along with helping us develop elements of our curriculum, and implement the work in schools for Luminaria Learning. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate who enjoys direct work with students, as well as the potential opportunity to focus on instructional design, curriculum development and content creation, building out elements of our curriculum to help us implement our Life Navigator work in schools.


We are a small office located in downtown Los Altos, a few miles from Stanford University, and our work has been featured in the NYTimes, Washington Post, CNBC, Chicago Tribune, ABC News, USA Today, NPR, and others. Our work improves self-confidence, encourages life-long learning and engagement, and supports overall well-being.


Please note: We work with students, and are in our downtown Los Altos office M-Th, and are currently remote on Fridays. Our current hours are: M, T, W noon-9 pm (in office), Th 11-7 pm (in office), Fridays 9-6 pm (virtual). Our anticipated start date is Wednesday, August 7, 2024.


Responsibilities:

* Meet with students (20-25 hours a week) working on executive functioning skills and content support - there is extensive training on background and skills development

* Work on curriculum development and training (15-20 hours a week) - using Adobe Pro, Google Slides and Canva and online resources to develop online courses, and support bringing our work into schools.

* Contribute to different educational programs and curriculum development as needed

* Offer subject support as needed and be fully fluent in relevant subjects; strong writing and editing skills required

* Offer sincere positive reinforcement and encouragement while expecting results

* Help with content creation including social media management

* Support with curriculum development, short- and long-term planning, implementation, and fundraising efforts for our non-profit initiative, Luminaria Learning Solutions


Necessary Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

* Previous experience working with and teaching/tutoring middle school and high school students, ideally advising, coaching, and/or working with young people

* Commitment to creating pathways for opportunity and access for all students

* Genuine interest in making a difference and in supporting sustainable growth and scale

* Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills, strong writing skills

* Personable, warm and approachable personality, with a solutions-oriented perspective

* Experience with Adobe, Canva, Wordpress, Google Workspace including Sheets and Slides, LMS systems preferable and/or a willingness to learn

* Active, sense of humor, collaborative team player

* Excellent organization and time management skills

* Incredibly reliable, responsible and solutions-oriented


Preferred Qualifications:

*Math/science background helpful


Compensation:

~$67,340-76,960/FTE

We provide options for health insurance coverage at both gold and platinum standards, and after the initial qualification period there are options for PTO, 401K and profit-sharing.
