This Mechanical Engineering position at Regalo will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks across the entire life cycle of a project. You will be responsible for working both independently and collaboratively among a team of engineers and product designers.
Responsibilities:
- Apply sound design principles and CAD practices to all design projects.
- Effectively balance multiple projects, responsibilities, and tasks simultaneously.
- Deliver quality solutions that meet cost and timing objectives.
- Generate accurate Solidworks CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Develop a wide range of simple and effective mechanisms and/or manufacturing solutions.
- Create production ready documentation. Understand and utilize PDM.
- Coordinate with the Quality department to ensure correct standards and regulations are applied and met.
- Cross functional collaboration and coordination with internal Marketing team and China based Production Engineering team.
- Coordinate development, production tooling and offshore manufacturing through clear and consistent communications.
- Project management; Responsible to follow, support, and provide reporting of assigned projects until completion.
Required:
- Highly motivated individual with a positive attitude.
- Must be a team player. Fosters continuous improvement and flexibility.
- Minimum: Associate degree - in mechanical design, engineering or equivalent.
- 4 - 6 years of experience designing high volume, mass production parts and assemblies.
- Ability to interpret data and solve complex problems with simple solutions.
- Highly proficient in SolidWorks. certified Solidworks Professional or higher preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of various materials, manufacturing, and production processes, such as metal fabrication, welding, and injection molding. Soft goods experience is a plus.
- Experience creating production release documentation and using product data management software.
- Detail oriented. Exceptional organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral.
- Consumer product experience. Experience in the Juvenile Industry is a plus.
