Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Manager to lead the establishment and growth of our subcontracting business in partnership with one or more prime contractors of the US Air Force. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategizing, developing, and executing a comprehensive business plan to secure and manage subcontracting opportunities, fostering strong relationships with prime contractors, and ensuring successful project execution

Responsibilities:


Business Development and Strategy:

Develop and implement a strategic business plan to identify subcontracting opportunities within the supply chain of prime contractors working with the US Air Force.

Identify and evaluate potential prime contractors to collaborate with, aligning with the company's capabilities and growth objectives.


Partnership Building:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with prime contractors, positioning the company as a reliable and valuable subcontracting partner.

Collaborate closely with prime contractors to understand their project needs, capabilities, and long-term goals.


Subcontracting Opportunities:

Identify, assess, and pursue viable subcontracting opportunities within the scope of prime contractors' projects for the US Air Force.

Prepare competitive proposals, negotiate terms, and secure contracts to maximize business growth.


Project Management:

Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of subcontracting projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, schedules, and quality standards.

Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and prime contractors to meet project milestones and expectations.


Financial Management:

Develop and manage budgets for subcontracting projects, monitoring financial performance, and optimizing resource allocation.

Ensure cost-effective project execution while maintaining profitability.


Compliance and Regulations:

Ensure adherence to all relevant federal regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards in subcontracting operations.

Implement processes to meet security, quality, and contractual obligations.


Team Leadership:

Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, enabling their professional growth.


Performance Measurement:

Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of subcontracting projects and overall division performance.

Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategic adjustments.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience of 15+ years in establishing and growing subcontracting operations within the defense industry, particularly with US Air Force prime contractors.
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to envision and execute business growth strategies.
  • Proficiency in project management, financial analysis, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
  • Security clearance may be required.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
