Overview:

Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Academic Support Associate at the Rice Lake Campus.

??This position is responsible for the coordination of student access to support services, collection and reporting of student demographics and hours, course scheduling, and educational supply management. The Academic Support Associate must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty, and all internal and external partners. The Academic Support Associate will have direct responsibilities for Academic Support in the Rice Lake Region, including registration processes, assessing needs of students, purchasing, grant reporting and tutor coordination. The Rice Lake Region consists of the Rice Lake Campus, the Ladysmith Outreach Center, the Rusk County Jail, and the Barron County Jail and includes Adult Education, English Language Learner, Corrections, High School Contracting, and Program Support services.?

Academic Support is integral to the colleges student support model. Whether it is before or during a students education, Counselors, Accommodations Specialists, Academic Coaches, and Faculty refer students who are struggling academically to the Academic Support Center to create an educational plan instrumental to the students success. The Academic Support Center also provides highly beneficial programming to the community, partnering with local schools, agencies, and businesses.

    • Scheduling of Classes

    • Marketing of services, hours, and contacts
    • Processing of 118.15 High School Contracts for completion & billing
    • Graduation for GED/HSED Completers
    • Transition assistance for students pursuing post-secondary education
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Degree & Experience Required:

  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent*

  • Three years related work experience

*Equivalent educational/occupational experience may be a high school diploma plus 6-7 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining positivity and professionalism
  • Ability to operate independently while providing assistance to the instructional process in accordance with the educational objectives of the College
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty, and all internal and external partners
  • Strong customer service skills that focus on creative problem solving
  • Time management skills that apply organization and prioritization demonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to obtain drivers license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy


Salary:

FY24 Salary - Grade I - $23.14 / hour
