Audubon is currently seeking a Safety Inspector to join our team in Des Plains, Illinois. The Safety Inspector will inspect pipelines and related equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applicants must reside within a 50-mile radius of Des Plains.
  • Review pipeline construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with safety codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Evaluate proposed pipeline routes, material specifications, and construction methods to identify potential safety concerns or risks.
  • Identify opportunities for improving safety processes and procedures related to pipeline operations.
  • Collaborate with Project Management to implement safety initiatives aimed at reducing risks, enhancing safety performance, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Examine and identify potential safety hazards or violations.
  • Record and document inspection findings, including any safety violations, non-compliance issues, or maintenance requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of pipeline operations and maintenance practices to verify compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and information on safety best practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, emergency response procedures, and safe work practices.


EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • Requires 10+ years of experience in pipeline construction and maintenance.
  • Four-year occupational safety and health degree or equivalent combinations of technical training or industrial related safety experience.
  • Thorough understanding of all federal, state and company regulations.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures essential.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Problem solving abilities must be evident.
  • Must be skilled in conflict resolution.
  • Must be able to work on weekends and holidays if required.
