**JOB SUMMARY:**
Vaco Technology is currently seeking a Data Architect for a direct hire opportunity in Columbus, OH.
**Location**: hybrid
**Type**: direct hire / full time
**Status**: W2 only. Unable to sponsor now or in the future. No C2C.
**Summary:**
The Data Architect designs, develops, manages, and determines how the organization's data will be stored, managed, and accessed. This role is responsible for creating an inventory of enterprise data and storing the data in an easily accessible manner while ensuring protection from unauthorized persons. Strategically, this role looks at the organizational data needs as a whole and considers the enterprise data architecture when designing models and processes to ensure a scalable architecture that is secure and economical in terms of both cost and support. The Data Architect is responsible for the primary development, support and management of the exchange, transformation, and delivery of data between both internal and external business systems.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Determine business needs for information and design and develop solutions to retrieve, store, and deliver data.
* In collaboration with business and technical teams, resolve issues and solve problems through the application of advanced, innovative, and eloquent data solutions.
* Lead systems development lifecycle and processes, including promoting code through environments, automating processes, defining quality checks and alerts, and providing leadership for staff who code and facilitate the processes.
* Work with input and guidance from the Senior Manager of Data Solutions and with direction from the Director of Enterprise Systems and Applications to ensure alignment with information and application strategies and roadmaps.
**REQUIREMENTS:**
* Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent education and experience.
* 5 years of experience as a Data Architect and ETL developer.
* At least three years of data modeling experience and knowledge of 3NF, Star-Schema and other data warehousing modeling techniques.
* Demonstrated ability to execute complex research assignments, including critical thinking, logical and comprehensive problem analysis and resolution.
* Technical project leadership experience, including the ability to present solutions, gain consensus and lead implementation.
* Direct database and data transformation design and development experience.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues.
* Experience in all facets of MS SQL database administration, including database design, tuning, optimization and security.
**PREFERRED (not required):**
* Experience in one or more - MS Azure Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Data Lake, Blob Storage and Data Lake Analytics.
* Data Quality tool(s), preferably mSQL.
* Knowledge of Ralph Kimball's Enterprise Data Warehouse Toolkit.
* Experience with Agile methodology.
* Programming languages and databases (.Net, API, R, Python, etc.).
* Supervisory experience.
