The Outside Plant (OSP) Technician shall possess a minimum of five (5) years' experience in operation and maintenance of tactical, or commercial, telecommunications equipment
Specific experience is required in the following areas:
- Individual shall possess a minimum of five (5) years' experience in installation and maintenance using telecommunications industry standards-based cabling distribution systems and must be familiar with and be able to reference current TIA/EIA standards
Specific experience is required in the following areas: - Employee must be familiar with basic Project Management Skills and procedures
- Employee is expected to have basic design skills of Cable/Fiber/Wire Installations and the ability to splice Fiber and Copper wire installations
- Employee is expected to have basic Voice/Data Network Infrastructure Design skills
- IAT Level II Certified IAW DoD 8570.01-M or the ability to obtain is a plus but not required
- Employee must obtain Personal Computer (PC) operations at the Operator level
- Employee must be able to test and perform T-1/PRI and VoIP Installations
- Demonstrated ability to sustain a high performance while handling multiple priorities under pressure.
- Must be able to work well with other team members in a collaborative manner, fostering learning and knowledge sharing to complete projects and equally be able to work solo with limited supervision and project oversight.
- Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and documentation skills
