Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to monitor youth and adults in open gym with basketball and weight room activities. This is accomplished by opening the gym; handing out basketballs for court use; unlocking the weight room; and overseeing all activities that take place. Other duties include sweeping floors before youth league; and ensuring that all facilities are well-kept.
Essential Functions
Manages open gym activities by watching youth and adults in basketball gym and weight room; handing out basketballs and unlocking all facility doors; helping and guiding guests; opening and closing facility for scheduled events; reporting maintenance concerns to Supervisor; and performing minor janitorial maintenance.
Manages the Youth Basketball League by utilizing the scoreboard; coordinating the standings and records for the teams; and overseeing the fans in the audience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to understand written and oral instructions, in English.
- Ability to deal with the public professionally and display a positive image.
- Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks.
- Ability to handle disruptive participants and customers is necessary.
- Knowledge of sports including basketball, weight lifting and volleyball.
Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Under and including six months experience.
Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
