Position Overview

This position will address the most critical, strategic and personnel choices from a global supply chain perspective within Galerie and the Purchasing team. Responsibilities will include working with the President, Sales, Design and Product Development teams (both in the US and Mexico) to develop and implement a strategy to ensure that overall supply chain operations, inventory, vendors (domestic and international) and pricing are driven to meet budget and customer demands and delivered on-time.


Scope of Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning Strive to continually uncover and identify significant pricing and vendor relationships to ensure materials, packaging and other resources required for product launches and production are ordered and received within appropriate timeframes to meet seasonal demands and shipping deadlines.
  • Supply Chain Processes Manage the end-to-end supply chain processes, from procurement of product to meeting production deadlines and shipping timelines. Manage and maintain inventory levels of appropriate packaging and resources needed to keep production lines supplied.
  • Management & Leadership Lead cross-functional team particularly around inter-departmental communication with Product Development, Sales, Design and the Mexico team to ensure benchmarks and timelines are adhered to for ordering and receiving products around seasonal selling and shipping deadlines. Manage and develop Purchasing team, setting team members up for success and growth within the department or Galerie as a whole.


Reporting Relationship

  • The Senior Purchasing Manager will report to the President and CFO. This position will also require close working relationships with the VP of Sales, VP of Product Development and Creative Director s teams to ensure components and materials are procured to meet the demands of customers on budget and delivered on-time as defined by seasonal demand.


Experience Base


  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Traditional CPG foundation with strong understanding of components required for gifting products, ceramics, tins, plastics and other packing materials.
  • Forecasting & Demand Planning Through the use of MRP, entering volumetric forecasting and demand planning of materials and components required. A strong understanding of lead times and various benchmarks required by seasonal gifting timeframes.
  • Global Purchasing and Vendor Negotiations Strong negotiation and vendor relationship skills is a must. Purchasing of materials (components, raw materials, packaging, etc.,) on budget and on time from global vendors for receipt to match production schedules and shipment deadlines based on seasonal demands.
  • Team Development Demonstrated success building a highly organized and trained team of Procurement Specialists. Proven experience managing, developing, motivating, and promoting direct reports, and instilling a winning culture. This also extends to external relationships including, but not limited to suppliers and vendors both domestic and international.
