Safety Manager


Job Details

The Corporate Safety Manager will assist all areas of the business in ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and health policies and regulations for the company on local, state, and federal levels. The position will oversee general safety programs and safety initiatives at multiple locations, including warehouse and manufacturing areas. Key responsibilities include designing, implementing and delivering regulatory-compliant EHS programs, overall implementation and management of safety training. Providing leadership in injury reduction and hazard mitigation.


Responsibilities:

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts for site safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure a culture that strives for an Accident-Free Workplace
  • Provide EHS guidance and support for various locations.
  • Maintain existing safety programs, and develop others as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory (OSHA, EPA, IEPA, DOT, etc.)
  • Conduct facility-wide inspections, and internal audits.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program to investigate and evaluate incidents and injuries.
  • Maintain all OSHA required logs, records, and reports.
  • Prepare monthly management summary of safety activities, injury rates and injury details.
  • Conduct facility ergonomic assessments, as needed, work to remove or mitigate exposures.
  • Ensure documented closure on all corrective action/audit items, and actively seek to improve compliance.
  • Assist with completion of various regulatory reports/filings.
  • Lead Responder/Instructor for medical emergencies. First Responder Certified/Certified CPR/AED/BBP/FA and instructor (or ability to obtain) to conduct training.
  • Lead Facilitator on required OSHA training topics.
  • Provide support with business sustainability efforts. Coordinating and completing various internal or third-party surveys.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in safety or related field or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of experience in safety management preferred.
  • Positive attitude, good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
