Summary (Position Description): As a member of the Application Engineering team, you will have an instrumental role in helping the Application Engineering Department further develop our industry leading technical support. You will become a technical expert on all BITZER products and use this expertise to educate customers with a particular focus on troubleshooting BITZER products used in commercial refrigeration systems. Specific responsibilities include product selection, customer training, troubleshooting, on-site support, and documentation.
Reports To: Application Engineering Manager
Status: Full time, Salary Exempt
Duties & Tasks:
- Troubleshoot commercial applications such as processing, chillers, condensing units, supermarket refrigeration and cold storage facilities.
- Train and support engineering team, sales teams, and customers on new products.
- Gather data and provide analysis and feedback.
- Work with other engineering department as necessary to resolve customer requests.
- Assist Operations with analysis of compressor returned for inspection.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Understanding of commercial (Supermarket) refrigeration rack operation
- Understanding of compressor operation
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in refrigeration systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with the Microsoft suite
Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
- Minimum of 10 years field (service) experience in commercial refrigeration
- or
- Bachelor s degree in engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial refrigeration
- High degree of technical knowledge related to the basic function of compressors, pressure vessels and refrigeration systems.
- Excellent customer interaction and communication skills
- Must have a valid driver s license.
Work Environment:
- This job is performed in a professional office and a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. Work time will be spent in a standard office environment with manufacturing plant exposure. Travel is required when necessary, including international requiring a valid driver license. Temperature and noise may vary depending on external environmental conditions. You are required to wear PPE at all times when on the Manufacturing floor such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.
Physical Demands:
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; bend; stoop; use hands; and reach with hands and arms. This position is active and may require kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing. At times you will be required to travel to Customer sites which include Machine Rooms, Mechanical Houses and/or Commercial and Industrial facilities, which at times requires roof access via ladder and/or stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and 30 or more pounds on a regular basis.
