SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing a variety of consumer loan servicing duties including the reviewing of all documentation after loan closings to ensure the accuracy and consistency of all transactions. Verifies that all conditions are satisfied. Works with branch personnel and outside vendors in obtaining missing or incomplete documentation. Organization and set-up of loan files. Works with borrowers, attorneys, and other lending institutions in the preparation of loan payoffs. Processes payoffs and cancellations of loan Notes. Maintains all aspects of obtaining and releasing of collateral titles. Serve as a resource to all branches/departments in all aspects of the servicing of consumer loans. Assists in all Loan Servicing department functions as directed by Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews the loan file when closing documents are returned to determine if any additional information is needed or corrections to the closing documents.
  • Reviews the closing conditions. Contacts Member Service Representative or borrowers to obtain missing documentation. Updates the files after receipt of documentation.
  • Coordinates the assembly and scanning of loan files after closing. Gathers additional data such as Insurance, RMV, VSI, Authorization and Transfer Documentation. Scan and index documents into the imaging system.
  • Reviews loan files received from Indirect Lenders to ascertain accuracy, and upload to Host system. Assists with phone calls and issues pertaining to members' accounts on loans received from Indirect Lenders.
  • Maintains titles on collateralized loans. Inclusive of phone calls or mailing of letters to borrowers regarding status of titles. Contacts Registry of Motor Vehicles or other lending institutions regarding the status of titles, Reviews accuracy of titles upon receipt. Administers corrective action for missing or inaccurate information on titles. Maintains the filing of titles on loan folders.
  • Reviews the input of the loan specifics on the Host system. Assists in the correction of input errors. Notifies appropriate personnel for corrective action.
  • Prepares payoff calculations and notifies the appropriate parties. Handles phone inquiries, faxes, and member service questions regarding payoff requests.
  • Prepares disbursement of payoff funds and discharges all applicable documents along with the cancellation of the Note. Maintains loan records of disbursement amounts. Maintains all paid Note files.
  • Assist with the organization and filing of Consumer loan files. Scanning and indexing into imaging system, as necessary.
  • Assists with phone calls to/from members regarding servicing issues and cross sells applicable products and services.
  • Maintenance of Debt Protection, Life, and Disability insurance documentation. Review of the accuracy of the documentation and corrective actions if necessary.
  • Assists borrowers with Debt Protection or GAP claims.
  • Assists borrowers and branch staff, contact center with Skip-a- Payment requests. Adjust accounts accordingly for skipped payments.
  • Assist members with credit card inquiries, changes, maintenance via the QuickAssist and Evolve systems.
  • Assist Contact Center, Branch personnel and borrowers with payment reversals or corrections.
  • Continuance review of Credit Union policy and procedures. Incorporating any changes in compliance within areas of responsibility.
  • Generate verification forms and mails out accordingly.
  • Utilizes weekly or monthly reports for management and correction of consumer loans.
  • Performs quality control for consumer loans.
  • Performs scanning and filing.
  • Assists with job duties of a Residential Mortgage Loan Servicer when requested.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Wide range of banking knowledge plus a good understanding of standard servicing procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in dealing effectively with members/customers and third-party vendors.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Proficient clerical and typing skills.
  • Ability to research and resolve problems.
  • Must have a basic understanding of general ledger accounting.

EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • One to two years of work experience in a credit union or financial institution.
