Job Description

Job Summary

The Bankruptcy Manager will be responsible for the oversight, leadership, process management and staffing allocations of the Bankruptcy team. Function and process performance in line with required Service Levels and Federal Bankruptcy Court and State Laws are required. In addition, the Bankruptcy Manager is responsible for the oversight, monitoring, auditing and accountability of the Bankruptcy Servicer. Responsibilities and functions include the oversight, management and performance tracking of the Bankruptcy associates, Potential Bankruptcy Case filings through Call Miner detection, Actual Bankruptcy Case Monitoring based on direct customer or Bankruptcy Servicer notification, Data File monitoring and validation received from the Bankruptcy Servicer, completion of the monthly Vendor Scorecard of the Bankruptcy Servicer to ensure compliance with agreements, and the review of eligible Bankruptcy accounts for Statutory Notices and Repossession. All functions, operations, gap identification and process enhancements should be executed to implement or maintain compliance of all federal Bankruptcy regulations, company compliance, policy and procedure.

Job Duties

  • Manage, Direct and Assign volume within the Bankruptcy processes for appropriate handling within established policy and procedures.
  • Staffing assessment and allocation for proper coverage for Bankruptcy Call Handling, Account Processing and Function Completion.
  • Quality assessment of completed productivity by Bankruptcy Specialists in compliance with overall regulations, policy and procedures of all Bankruptcy functions.
  • Quality assessment and function completion of Bankruptcy Servicer for accuracy, service level capture and in compliance with Federal Bankruptcy Court requirements
  • Identify process enhancements and opportunities to close gaps within all Bankruptcy functions to ensure compliance with policy, procedure and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate, assist and communicate with other departments across the organization on gap closure opportunities, process enhancements and exceptions detected within Servicing operations where a potential bankruptcy was identified and not properly facilitated
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Work Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six (6) years of related experience.
  • One (1) year of management experience.
  • Experience in leading processes and direct reports
  • Experience in bankruptcy regulations, compliance requirements, and processes preferred
  • Knowledge of Bankruptcy Regulations, requirements and structure
  • General knowledge of collections policies and procedures and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Established verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Adaptable to changes within a face paced environment
  • Can effectively collaborate with peers and leadership
