Job Details

New Dominion the onsite school for Nexus Gerard Family Healing is looking to add a Teaching Assistantthat will provide support to education faculty in areas of student learning and provide support within both the educational and residential setting with student resident supervision and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Working hours Monday Thru Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
  • Provide educational assistance to clients within a classroom setting.
  • Provide client supervision and mentorship.
  • Ensure student resident safety and collaborate with co-workers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean and safe.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required by Nexus. Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.
  • Uphold Nexus policy and procedures regarding student resident confidentiality.
  • Additional Duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 21 years of age


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to assist staff in physical and non-physical interventions with residents
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+ pounds with assistance
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours)
  • Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within a school.
