SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday

Position Summary: This individual will work with a team who is accountable for facilitating the interest of the customers, sales representatives and Sauder Manufacturing. The CAD team provides seating layouts and other drawings for our customers, sales reps and delivery and installation. Internal systems data is provided from these layouts for production.

  • Use computer aided design software for creating seating plans, room layouts, product/part drawings, and other drawings as needed.
  • External coordination/communication with sales reps, architects and customers.
  • Internal coordination/communication with Systems, Scheduling, Order Entry, Engineering, plant floor, Project Coordinators, and Sales Assistants.
  • Application of building codes for seating layouts.
  • Management of workload to meet customer need.
  • Ongoing training in CAD software and other tools related to the job function.
  • Maintain drawings and associated support files.
  • Training of sales reps for field measuring and other processes that support sales.
  • Provide back-up and assistance updating contract/drawing details into ERP System.
  • Provide and coordinate system data from seating plans and any other related manufacturing and purchasing information

Experience and Knowledge Required
  • Associates degree, or minimum of 2-4 years' experience, or combination of education and experience.
  • The successful candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Familiar with other computer aided design software (SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor) is preferred.
  • Proficient PC skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. are beneficial.
  • Typing skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Conflict resolution skills are desired.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Standard work hours are M-F, 8am-5pm.

Work Environment

Encompasses the full spectrum from factory floor, to personal offices, to executive board rooms. The noise levels in these work environments are usually low to moderate. Personal protective equipment such as eye protection and ear protection may be required in the shop floor environment.
