Job Details

The Utility AutoCAD Designer will play a pivotal role in supporting facilities capital projects by providing expert AutoCAD design and filing support. This role requires a strong understanding of utility infrastructure design principles, regulatory requirements, and project management processes. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project success from conception to completion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • AutoCAD Design: Create detailed utility infrastructure drawings, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other mechanical systems, using AutoCAD software.
  • Filing Support: Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals, permits, and compliance requirements related to utility infrastructure projects.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to integrate utility designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure all utility designs and filings adhere to relevant regulatory standards, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews of utility drawings and documentation to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in utility infrastructure design and filing processes, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate project status, challenges, and resolutions to internal and external stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software with a minimum of 5 years of experience in utility infrastructure design.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and filing processes related to utility infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings and documentation.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in facilities management or construction industry is a plus
